Picture book · Ages 3–5
A princess paints her whole kingdom pink.
Rosalinda loves one colour so much that she covers everything in it — the castle, the gardens, the lake. Then the rain comes, the other colours return, and she has to decide what she actually wants.
Written by Marcel Szenessy. Two editions: the hand-painted original from 2017, and the longer 2025 edition with bonus material.

The story
One colour, one kingdom, one change of heart.

What your child discovers
Four quiet lessons, none of them spelled out.
Loving one thing
It is fine to adore a single colour. The story never takes that away from her.
Letting the rest exist
Some things cannot be changed to match what we want, and the world is better for it.
Saying it out loud
Rosalinda speaks her mind. The book shows her doing it kindly, which is the harder half.
Mistakes as a start
The pink kingdom was an error. Nobody is punished for it; it simply becomes the next idea.
Two editions
The same story, two kinds of pictures.
Both are in print, and both stay in print. Some readers want the pictures a person painted by hand; others want the newer, longer edition. Neither preference needs defending.
Edition 1 — painted by hand
The first edition from 2017, illustrated by Maria Vakulina. 22 pages, no bonus material, and every picture drawn by a person. The only edition available in Spanish.
English, German and Spanish
Edition 2 — illustrated with AI
Redrawn from scratch in 2025, 46 pages, with a psychological background for the grown-up, conversation starters and journal pages at the back. The illustrations in this edition were generated with AI and then selected and arranged by hand.
